The Beta module is an Ansys plugin developed for Meta-Material design and property analysis.

Heat Transfer Meta-Material Design Beta Module

The Heat Transfer Meta-Material Design Beta Module demonstrates our AI-based methodology, enhancing finite element analysis (FEA) simulations. This approach targets a specific unit cell design - an ABS hexagonal cell with a similarly shaped void partially filled with water. The key innovation is replacing finely meshed unit cells with custom material model elements that capture the average properties of each unit cell, focusing on average thermal conductivity.

The average thermal conductivity of these effective elements depends on the unit cells' geometrical properties and temperature. Utilizing these effective elements allows for a much coarser mesh in simulations, significantly reducing computation time - by approximately a factor of 50-60, while maintaining comparable accuracy.
